Multifaith Walk Against Violence” represents a move to unite Canadians against all forms of violence. These include: child abuse, domestic violence, terrorism, wars, gangs, bullying and elder abuse. Canadians of all faiths are participating in this walk. Leaders from the aboriginal communities, as well as leaders from Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Sikhism, Hinduism and other faiths and backgrounds are part of this Canada wide walk. Step by step, Calgary Imam Syed Soharwardy, Leader of this walk, is putting his faith into action as he walks across the country in a walk against violence.

English Conversation Club


Practice your English in small and informal group discussions with Canadian volunteers.  An ideal program for immigrants, refugees and international students to meet new people and learn about other cultures. 


·        Increase participants’ comfort and confidence speaking English.

·        Increase participants’ verbal English fluency, comprehension, and enhance their English pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar skills.

·        Provide a venue where immigrants deepen their relationship with the Saanich region. 

·        Promote cross-cultural understanding through activities that generate cross-cultural learning.
